Threads Across Borders: Aga Culture at Ecobank Adire Lagos 2026

There is a particular kind of magic that happens when fabric becomes language, when a pattern, dyed by hand over hours of patience, starts to speak about identity, culture, and the quiet defiance of a tradition that refuses to fade. That magic was the air at the Ecobank Pan African Centre this June, and Aga Culture was happy to be part of it.

From June 11-14, 2026, Ecobank Nigeria hosted the fifth edition of its flagship cultural showcase, the Adire Lagos Experience, bringing together artisans, designers and cultural stakeholders from across the continent. This year’s theme, “Threads Across Borders,” celebrated the depth and global resonance of Adire as a uniquely Nigerian art form while positioning it within Africa’s broader textile and cultural narrative, and honestly, the theme could not have been more fitting for us.

For Aga Culture, Tye dye is not just fabric. It is memory. It is the resist-dyeing techniques passed down through generations of Yoruba women, the indigo baths, the wax and starch resists drawn by hand, the stories stitched into every fold. Stepping into EPAC and setting up our showcase among over 100 vendors and artisans from across the continent, felt like coming home to a much bigger family, one where heritage and craft are currency, and where every booth told a different chapter of the same African story.

What made this year’s edition especially exciting was its scale and spirit. Beyond the exhibition booths, the experience included indigenous cuisine, African music, and cultural performances, alongside curated networking and business sessions designed to strengthen connections across the Adire value chain, from artisans and designers to merchants, buyers, and cultural enthusiasts. It was four days of colour, rhythm, conversation, and commerce, exactly the kind of environment where a brand rooted in heritage like ours feels most alive.

And we did not walk this journey alone. We were proud to be joined at our stand by our partners at Club Concierge International, who brought a different kind of story to the table one about travel, leisure, and the experiences that happen after you’ve found something that moves you. While our racks told stories of where culture comes from, CCI’s team spoke to guests about where life can take you next, through premium vacation ownership and global travel experiences. Two brands, two crafts, one shared belief: that exceptional things, whether woven, dyed, or lived, deserve to be experienced fully.

Watching visitors run their fingers over the texture of an Adire wrap, ask about the symbolism behind a pattern, then turn and strike up a conversation with the CCI team about their next getaway, that, to us, captured the whole spirit of “Threads Across Borders.” Culture doesn’t live in isolation. It travels. It connects. It opens doors.

To everyone who stopped by our stand, asked questions, tried on a piece, or simply stood and admired the craftsmanship, thank you. You are the reason brands like Aga Culture get to keep telling these stories.
