Ayo Board With Concrete Seeds
Ayo is a popular African board game, where players ‘sow’, capture, and count seeds at the end of the game popularly played among the Yoruba tribe of West Africa. The objective of the game is for a player to capture more seed than the opponent.
The Ayo board is traditionally carved out of hardwood and features elaborate carvings that tell stories of the bearer’s heritage.
Aga’s adaptation is a minimal interpretation made of hand-painted or polished bronze edges, a corresponding wooden or polished bronze grooved cover, and seeds made of cement or bronze.
