Inspired by the Oloolu which is said to be the father and most feared masquerade in all of Ibadan. The Oloolu was said to be a great was masquerade during the war in Akoko, Ondo State. The Oloolu was then defeated and brought to Ibadan as a slave before he was use to perform the ritual to appease the gods.
The Oloolu was said to connect people their long gone ancestors who appear in a form of a human spirit to give warnings and shower blessings to the land. Women are forbidden to see the Oloolu because of the female skull attached to the top of its attire. The Oloolu masquerade comes out every July during the Oloolu festival which is believed to bring blessings upon the land. Made from Hard Wood and finished with organic oil
