PRODUCT DETAILS

Oko is a freestanding modern tool designed by Aga. The design is inspired by the traditional African farming tool - the hoe - which is commonly used in rural parts. The chair derives its name from the Yoruba word for the tool.

The design of the chair was envisioned as an elegantly sculpted and minimal piece to resemble and pay tribute to the hand tool. The key feature is the iconic rounded ball into which the seat blade inserts itself and is coupled with the finely tapered back rest that takes after the long handle of the hoe.

The chair is available in a variety of material options - wood, metal, and a combination of wood and metal. It is hand carved in Nigeria.

This product is meticulously handmade by master artisans one piece at a time. It is therefore quite difficult, if not impossible, to make identical items. Any natural blemishes or irregularities should not be misconstrued as flaws. These are what make each handmade piece unique.
